Back better than ever! - review added on Mon 17th Sep 2001
My wife booked L'Ortolan last weekend for dinner, and I went with trepidation. My knowledge of the old L'Ortolan filled me with expectations of a fussy, overtly French meal in a busy, dark room. How wrong I was. The new look L'Orlotan is fresh, cosmepolitan, very MPWish, and the food was stunning. (Tasting menu included Foie Gras, Scallops, Sea Bass, Speactacular Veal) The staff are mostly ex Manoir aux quatre saisons, but without the attitude. the menu pice at 35.00 per person for the tasting menu is great value that I am sure will not last. Great, reasonably priced wine list. The room is only half open right now, (25 pax), but the atmosphere was great. We will be back!
