Customer Reviews for The Green Man - Reading

Doesn`t live up to expectations! - review added on Wed 19th Sep 2007

The last two occasions we have eaten at The Green Man, Hurst we have been a bit disappointed. The food was very average, not very well presented and sometimes not even served hot.

The Sunday roast was fairly poor. Well done beef was more like shoe leather and the roast potatoes were still rather solid. The experience was only rescued by a good array of traditional puddings, although microwaving a fruit crumble can leave someone with a burnt mouth. Despite being somewhat top heavy with young waiting staff, they need better direction and training in customer service. For a good Sunday roast, I would suggest visiting other local pubs offering a Sunday carvery which are cheaper and offer better quality food.
