Toby Carvery, Caversham - review added on Sun 27th Jan 2008
20.01.08. I went around 8pm on sunday, where full price is £8.00. I had the carvery all was good apart from the potatoes tasted old, maybe left overs from lunchtime, or even the day before.
My partner and mushroom wellington which was dry, crusty and contained invisible mushrooms and too garlicy. It was too late in the day for me to complain as i had a 2 hour drive ahead of me.
I would not have paid full price for the meals.
My view is, it shouldn't matter what time of the day you go the quality should not differ.

What's happened to the spuds?! - review added on Wed 29th Oct 2008
Used to be okay in here, but the staff have got worse and worse. They now just leave you sat at the table and you can't order anything off the menu - you have to have the carvery and then waste an hour following them round the restaurant trying to order drinks or veggie options. Also, floor, chairs and tables are dirty.
Food is nice apart from the roast potatoes which are small and chewy as though they've been left out for a couple of days.
Price is reasonable except on Sundays.
