Customer Reviews for Misugo - Windsor

Disappointed - review added on Sat 27th Oct 2007

Utterly disappointing. With my own stupidity I have actually attempted sampling the food here on 3 separate occasions. First was a valentine meal with my wife, the price for the set meal was extortionate, while the amount of food was huge, no one apart from maybe americans could ever hope of getting through it. Unfortunately the quality was poor, I have had better pretty much anywhere else I have had sushi. The second time was when I tried to order a takeaway, but was completely put off by the rudeness of the "madam" on the other end of the line. I changed my mind and went somewhere else. The third time was tonight - ordered a takeaway, went and picked it up. Amazingly tiny portions for the £50 bill. Most of the dishes are simply padded out with a ton of soggy salad. The dishes themselves lacked flavour. Chicken with noodles was exactly that, chicken with noodles. The sushi was acceptable but to be honest, you can get the same thing at M&S for a fraction of the cost. I can't really put into words how bad this place is. They obviously have a hefty rent to pay due to it's location, and this is reflected in the prices and the smallness of the portions. Do yourselves a real favour - avoid at all costs. You'll thank me for this! Go to the sushi place opposite the castle, it is far superior in every aspect.

A good mix of Japanese meals - review added on Mon 9th Jun 2008

I found the food was excellent and I cannot disagree more with the earlier review. A very broad choise of traditional Japanese foods prepared freshly for you. Yes the prices were a little high, but they would not qualify as extortionate! It would benefit from some more set menus. The seating on hard stools makes a long meal a little uncomfortable. The interior of the restaurant is a little tacky and could do with a tasteful refit.
