Not just the place to be seen - the place to eat too - review added on Thu 13th Nov 2003
What can one say about The Ivy that hasn't been said before? Full of celebs and the well heeled, you might think this to be a credit-card breaker. Far from it.Food is great, and great value.Service is good without being stuffy.Ambiance terrific, as you might expect.Famously difficult to get a table, book well ahead and try an early sitting - pre-theatre is recommended!

Not bad, but I like her sister better... - review added on Mon 15th Mar 2004
Graham Norton sat at the next table the day I was there. Which is kind of fitting, loud, entertaining, but not that classy (don't get me wrong, I love GN in all his crassness). The food was good, especially a side order of gratin dauphinois, but I have to say I prefer Le Caprice, The Ivy's sister restaurant. The staff are friendlier and the food is better in my humble opinion. Still, The Ivy is always good for people watching...
