VERY POOR!!!!! - review added on Sat 8th Jan 2005
We went to this restaurant and left feeling nauseous. The choice was so small and most was deep fried. The portions were tiny and extortionately priced. The ckicken dish was pink and undercooked.

Very good value and sweet service - review added on Tue 8th Mar 2005
we ate here last weekend, a week after eating at the Bento Cafe in Camden, which was a full on Shushi restaurant serving such delights as Softshell crab. We decided to try the Sukiyaki one hungover Saturday lunchtime in need of some nourishment. The menu was a world apart from the fancy dishes found at the Bento Cafe, but was exactly what we were after. The menu looks uninspiring, and this is where I feel they could improve- simply by "selling"their dishes a little better, as the food was anything but bland. It was much simpler food, and was very soothing and clean tasting. We each got a tray of food each for about £8. I had a plate of marinated strips of beef and salad, a bowl of miso soup, two bowls of pickles, a bowl of rice and endless cups of green tea. My partner had Chicken Katsu curry server in a similar manner. We also had a side order of delicious steamed pork gyozo. Along with a Japanese beer and a lemonade the meal came to £26. We loved it so much I can see myself going there every Saturday!! The service was excellent from a very sweet polite Japanese lady. My only critisism is that although the restaurant is spotless, it could do with a refurb soon.
