Excellent eating experience - review added on Fri 2nd Jan 2004
Dinner for two in the Mount Edgcumbe turned into a wonderful night as the quality, variety and presentation of the food was outstanding and the charge was very reasonable. The menu caters for the traditional and the adventurous and has a truly international flavour. Seating was comfortable and well spaced and we had an option of dining in a non smoking area if we had chosen (I think this is only available on Friday and Saturday nights). Highly recommended.

The Mount Edgcumbe is a fantastic place to eat. I have eaten there many a time with my family and everytime we go there it just gets better and better. The fajitas on a Sunday night are amazing. Really feels like I am in Mexico eating Mexican food. They have loads of different speciality lagers and they also have a guest ale which changes weekly. They also have Peroni on Draught!!! First time I have ever seen that. Would always recommend it!!!!

A shadow of its former self - review added on Thu 17th Jan 2008
What a pity. The Mount Edgecumb has the most wonderful setting but has been let down by poor management and lack of attention to detail. Outside used to be one of the nicest places to have a glass of wine in the Wells. It is now overrun with weeds, mud, tables and chairs urgently need replacing, staff sitting outside the kitchen smoking (not really want you want to see when you first arrive). Clientele has changed too as they seem to have attracted some unsavoury sorts. When we called to give some constructive feedback to the manager, he said "if you don't like it - don't come back". Charming I'm sure.
