A bit out-of-the-way just off the A264 near Rusthall. Worth a visit just for the views across the Weald to the Ashdown Forest beyond. The house dates from 1895 and was built as the country home of Sir Walter Harris, a former Lieutenant of the City of London. Rumoured to be haunted, the Beacon can confidently boast a menu of top quality, delicious foods. I have eaten there several times and have never been disappointed. There is a normal pub barbut the eating area is far enough away from the bar to be able to enjoy your meal with family and friends.
Recommended Dishes: Chili Con Carni or the Cherizo Sausages
