Great food, good service and friendly staff, especially the Manager (formerly head chef) Chris. Well worth a visit! But book first!

Worth the Wait... - review added on Mon 18th Oct 2004
Don't despair if you don't book, they do hold some tables back for those of us who can't think that far ahead. We've never been disappointed with the food (quite the opposite) and the Hare is in a great location, especially in the Summer. Extensive whisky collection.

POOR BAR SNACKS - review added on Mon 6th Nov 2006
Like the Hare, use it often but was sold crisps a day inside sell by date and some awful scampi fries and cheese moments almost 6 months out of date! Got a refund but nobody attempted to check remaining stock!

Disappointing - review added on Sat 12th Jan 2008
I visited The Hare in late summer 2007 and sat outside, I ordered a beer and a traditional english ploughmans. Maybe I misinterpreted "traditional", because what I got was two sausages, a whole tomato (not cut into peices), a stick of celery, a dollop of branston pickle, some bread and I think a piece of apple. It looked for all the world like they wanted me to make my own lunch and were just giving me the ingredients. It was very expensive and likewise, very disappointing. Poor service too, they forgot my table number three times!
