Description
Situated in the city centre, beside the historic provisions market, and in the shadow of the city hall, Caley's Cocoa Cafe is located in the setting of the old Court of Record.
The room was used in medieval times as the "free prison"with the Court of Record being established in the mid. 18th century. It is a very fine example of an early Georgian Courtroom with the Judge's seat being set in the centre of a gentle curve of benches and adorned with Corinthian Columns. The arms of George II are displayed above. As you indulge in being served beverages and snacks at your table, you will enjoy the ambience that this grade 1 listed building has to offer and acquire a feel for Caley's chocolate heritage and its own historic link with the city. You will also be able to purchase a fine selection of chocolate confections and a variety of Caley branded memorabilia and keepsakes.
