Description

Set in a rural location, The Walpole is more than a traditional local pub; it also serves upscale food. The owners Richard Byran and Keith Reeves along with head chef Andy Parle focus on fresh locally sourced produce, including seafood and game. Winner of the Michelin 'Bib Gourmand' award in 2003.

The menus change on a daily basis. At lunchtime a snack menu is available in the bar in addition to the three-course à la carte menu. On Saturdays a special Brunch menu is served from midday, and on Sundays there is always a roast. In summer there is a strong Mediterranean influence, whereas winter menus usually contain dishes from northern Europe.

Plenty of outdoor space for kids.
