Customer Reviews for Florios Pizzeria Ristorante - Scarborough

Family Restaurant - review added on Fri 12th May 2000

We tried a variety of food, including starters, main courses and desserts. For starter I had garlic mushrooms, these were well prepared, and hot when they arrived. They tasted extremely fresh. For a main course I had a ham pizza. Again this was extremely fresh, and tasted fantastic. It had a traditional Italian base, and unlike many attempts at Italian pizza I have tasted before, it was not overcooked. For dessert I had a chocolate fudge cake. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but then I like my chocolate fudge cake extremely chocolatey, and extremely fudgy. I would imagine for most people it was pretty much perfect. The service was also good. The waiter was attentive, and didn't seem to mind that we couldn't pronounce any of the items on the menu. Drinks arrived quickly when ordered.Being an Italian restaurant, the atmosphere was very noisy. There was also a children's party going on, this added further to the lively atmosphere. This is clearly not for some people, but for those who enjoy a lively atmosphere, it was great. The reason we were at this restaurant was for a family birthday. You only have to mention it's someone's birthday, and that person will be embarrased for life, as their dessert will come complete with a sparkler, music and everyone singing along to Happy Birthday. Overall an excellent restaurant, that comes highly recommended.

Fantastic Pizzeria - review added on Tue 22nd Apr 2003

Each time we visit Scarborough we make sure to visit this place. It is fantastic. The pizza's are amongst the best anywhere in the country. The food arrives in a flash and the waiting staff are excellent. I would concur with the reviewer who says the atmosphere is on the noisy side, but with a 2 year old and a 5 year old in tow, I can hardly complain. They are very family friendly and arrange booster seats without prompting. They do an early bird special 5-7pm any pasta or pizza for £3.85 - what a bargain! The pizzas are massive and rarely do we have space for a desert (the bambino pizza is as big as you'd get for an adult in many a pizzeria). When we left at 6:30pm they were queuing up at the door.Give them a try, you won't regret it.

Garlic Bread - review added on Thu 14th Aug 2003

I live and work in Scarborough and this is a firm favourite with friends and work colleagues.Gorgeous pizzas and pastas but the very best dish is the garlic bread with tomato, cheese, and chilli, a real must have.

For my main course I had pizza with some chips and sauce, which was extremely fresh and tasted fantastic. It had a traditional Italian base and unlike many attempts at Italian pizza I have tasted before, it was not overcooked. For dessert I had a chocolate fudge cake. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but then I like my chocolate fudge cake extremely chocolatey and extremely fudgy. I would imagine for most people it was pretty much perfect.

Poor Tuna - review added on Tue 31st Aug 2004

if you are looking for a no frills meal then this place is for you "cheap and cheerfull'ish ". good greeting in the bar area , no draught beer only cans ?? seated after about half an hour. garlic bread very good as was the prawn coctail for starter the main course however was not as good i had farfalle with peppers and pepperoni( which vere both very sparse to say the least )my partner had tuna with a prawn sauce which was not too good dry as old boot leather ( cheap cut of frozen tuna overcooked) however the desert and the service vere top notch. the toilets could have done with a good scrub as well.

I go every week to Florio's and have the same dish every time: a bolegnese pizza, with a side order of chips. I seldom have room for a pudding, as the pizzas are so generously sized. With it being early, I get the "early bird"price, along with fast and effective service.I'm sixteen and have been going to this restaurant for well over ten years.

TOP ITALIAN....ROCK BOTTOM PRICES.. - review added on Sat 21st Oct 2006

I moved to Scarborough 8 years ago and untill recently had never been to Florio`s. WOW.. what have I been missing! The service is good, but the food is excellent, and the price? Cheap as chips. Two can eat, (Starter, Main, and a couple of Beers) for less than £20.00, an absolute bargain. And the price in no way reflects the quality of the food. Highly recomended.

Brilliant - review added on Fri 9th Mar 2007

Booked for 5pm Saturday and glad we did! A 'girly' party of 9 celebrating my **th birthday - and we had a great time - the place was buzzing, great atmosphere, food good and lots of it. The only thing I could pick on was the decor - it needs freshening up but all in all I'd recommend it - not one complaint in our party!
