An Average Restaurant - review added on Sun 20th Apr 2003
I found this restaurant ok, I found the food nice but was not really to my liking. I found that having my food cooked in front of me was a little of putting. The service was good but could be improved in a big way. Overall i think that i wouldnt recommend this restaurant.

Could be better - review added on Thu 29th Jan 2004
The food here is fine but the staff won't leave you alone. The minute you put your fork down from the last mouthful, they whip away your plate. They also patrol past you like guards. Not a very relaxing atmosphere.

Good For The Money - review added on Fri 2nd Jul 2004
I am a regular at the red dragon and find the food and staff very good and friendly, It is a eat as much as you like buffet and menu and very cheap I love the novelty of watching them cook your food infront of you. and the best way to wash it down is with a chinese beer Marvolous

Excellent - review added on Sun 18th Jul 2004
I'm a regular too, and I regularly take friends and business colleagues in for a meal - price-wise it can't be beaten, and the novelty of making your own meals as well as sending back to the kitchen is well worth it. The food is unquestionably fresh and tasty - no expense seems to be spared, and I do wonder how they make money based on an "all you can eat"system for as little as £6.99, or £3.99 without the hot platters! The place is spotlessly clean, and beer on draught helps to finish it off.

I love it! - review added on Tue 20th Jul 2004
For the past two years I have been living in the South, but whenever I return home I always try to make plans with my friends to return to Red Dragon. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. The Red Dragon is not a top class restaurant by any means, but then when you’re paying £6 for an ‘eat all you can’ meal, then realistically what do you expect?!The place is clean, though not classy by any means. Nonetheless I love it for what it is, a friendly restaurant with good food, good service and excellent price. I would very much recommend Red Dragon, though don’t expect something as classy as Jools (another restaurant in Scarborough). It’s a great place to take your friends for a get together at a great price.

Cannot Believe This Stuff - review added on Tue 21st Dec 2004
My wife and I are regular visitors to Scarborough, and the Red Dragon is TOP of our list for a great meal at a sensational price. The buffet is optional, as they will prepare and cook any dish from their menu and bring it to your table, refilling as often as you wish. Only problem is that the secret is getting out, and this place gets very busy these days!

Tremendous!! - review added on Wed 20th Jul 2005
Me and my brother are regular visitors to Scarborough as our dad lives there. Whenever we are over we make sure to make a visit to the Red Dragon!!The fact that you can create your own dishes and go back and do it as many times as you want is brilliant. You are then able to watch the chef cook your food in front of you!Trouble is, since witnessing it being cooked in no longer than 5 minutes (when busy aswell) makes me question why, when you go to other restaurants you are waiting for 20-30 minutes!!

Cheap, Cheap, and Cheap some more! - review added on Sat 21st Oct 2006
It`s Cheap. If you are hungry, it`s all you can eat Whoopeee! Take away quality food in a restaurant that is cheaper than a take away. At the end of the day you get what you pay for. But if your hungry its great.

Fantastic! Must Try! - review added on Thu 10th May 2007
I have been going to Red Dragon for a number of years and even today, I cannot undestand how they make there money!! Its eats as much as you like, with table service, and the staff are friendly and humble. Some Chinese in the restaurant speak better english than I do! The environment is unique to Red Dragon decorated in a modern and clean way. The food there is always piping hot and the portions are fantastic. Great Value for money!! Overall, I would put this restaurant in my Top 5. I have heard rumours that they will be moving to London too. I cannot wait as I work in London majority of the time.
