Jacobean Lodge Hotel New Ownership - review added on Mon 19th Jan 2004

The Jacobean Lodge is now under new ownership. The letting accommodation has been upgraded and is fantastic, the food has improved and now offers a greater selection of traditional English dishes. The beers and wine available were excellent. The pub has a great warm feeling, the landlord and staff were fantastic, if you haven't been yet I totally recommend it.

One of the nicest, unknown places in York! - review added on Wed 20th Apr 2005

The food was excellent (I had the Pork Goulash and my huspand the duck special) and the wide range of sweets (so hard to decide) rounded off a perfect trip to the Jacobean. Staff were particularly friendly and the jazz style of music was loved throughout my stay. Even the wine was to my liking! I would definitely recommend this place to anybody living in York who has not been!
