As well as serving traditional fish and chips we also have an extensive menu including, lasagnes, burgers, pasta bakes, homemade soups, quiche and a full English breakfast. There are desserts both hot and cold with a fridge that is stocked up with cream cakes and scones. Great meal! Thorougly enjoyed it. Fish and chips never tasted so nice.

I agree with your previous reviewer, this is the by far one of the best fish bars I have been in. It's by far the best in York. The staff are excellent, food is served quick and there is plenty of seating - we went in a prty of 27 and the had us seated withing 3 minutes. It's used by a lot of tourists and locals so that speaks for itself. I also hear, they are about to open up a outsales counter for takeaways.

I am so dissapointed. Wackers has changed hands and instead of building on a great reputation, the new people don't seem to care like Anne and the staff before. Craig was quite simply the best fryer around we miss him.

I recently took my mother to Wackers for her 80th birthday. We reserved a table for 9 people. The staff at Wackers could not have been more considerate. We were looked after like royalty. The food was absolutely beautiful. The service excellent. I would highly recommend this restuarant to anyone.

We don't agree with the above comment. We went to Wackers on our first trip to York in January and their fish and chips are absolutely fantastic- we even went back for sunday dinner, which was cooked beautifully with all fresh veg. And to agree with the 1st comment- the waiters are very sexy!
