Customer Reviews for Harvester - Bath

Disasters Do Strike Twice. - review added on Tue 6th Dec 2005

After living in Stevenage, Herts all our life, it was a breath of fresh air when Harvester came to town. We frequently eat out at restaurants at least three times a week, and visit Harvester at least once a week. We are now living in Bradford-on-Avon and our nearest Harvester is in Bath, Gloucester Road, Lambridge. Last week, we waited 7 mins to be seated, when we were, the manager took our order. The starters never arrived and when the mains arrived it was dried up old chicken. Generally the service was appauling. I would like to recomend that the chefs turn down the radio in the kitchen and that the doors are shut as the draft comming through the back doors from the car park for ciggy breaks was very discomforting, with the cold spell we were having. A week later on the 6th Dec, we decided to try the harvester again, and once again we left feeling very dissapointed. It seemed under staffed, but we were seated within reasonable time. We ordered two teas the reply was "you can have tea but we have no milk is cream ok?""no"we then waited a further 15mins before anyone came to take our food order. We decided to start with the salad bar and was very dissapointed as the lettuce was brown, and there was no gratted carrot, two further tubs empty and no honey mustard. Our waiter was messing around with the Deputy manager instead of serving us. At this stage we were still waiting for our drinks, and really fed up. We left the table and asked to speak to the manager. So we spoke to the deputy manager, and recomended that the manager should put down her paperwork and sort out her staff to serve her customers better. We are in the service ourselves and was shocked with the reply to the question about why she had no milk "we are not aloud to buy it"that sounds absolutly crazy to me!I must add we will not be giving the Harvester in Bath another chance which is a shame as we have had many happy meals in other establishments around the country.
