Boiled Sweets Selection Jar - A jar of assorted old favourites with a selection which will vary but is likely to include rhubarb and custard, kola kubes, pineapple chunks, pear drops and stacks more... they`re brilliant! We choose the sweets to make sure that there is a really good selection - and we cram in as many as we can. Officially we say that the sweets weigh about 2kg - but really they may weigh a fair bit more (depending on the selection)! Oh, and the jar measures 20cm x 14.5!

Catherine Wheels - We love Catherine Wheels here! They`re long laces of delicious Bassetts liquorice coiled around a Spog (pink, blue, orange or yellow). Great! But where do they come from?... we hear you ask! Well, they`re based on the historic Catherine Wheel - everyone knows them as a traditional firework, but the origins are much more gruesome than that.... Are you sitting comfortably? The original Catherine Wheel was the torture instrument on which St Catherine was martyred in the middle ages. Who would have thought that eating sweets could be so educational?!

They`re small, like little mini lips, and fairly hard, with a slightly perfumey flavour. You either love them, or hate them - we`re totally divided over this here at A Quarter Of! Lovely juicy fruity little hard boiled sweets that come in a range of fruity flavours: Orange, Blackcurrant, Lime, Lemon and Strawberry. The nostalgia factor on these is high - I used to get them in lucky/bumper bags from Woolworths when i was a wee nipper. Anyone else remember them?
