Apple Ballitas - These ROCK! Very appley pliable round sticks of apple-flavoured jelly.... they are really delicious and it`s just impossible to just have one. There are two parts to each stick: a soft creamy (almost foamy) external layer, which covers a more intense jelly (slightly firmer) centre - we love the texture of them, and the really intense (yet creamy) fruitiness. Really scrumptious!

Barratts Spogs (aka Jelly Buttons) - no we did not know these were called Spogs either (if you know of any other names for them please let us know!).They are the blue and pink aniseedy sweets out of liquorice allsorts - the ones you either head straight for or avoid like the plague (a bit like Marmite - love it or hate it - except you don`t get marmite in liquorice allsorts!!!)Apparently Spogs are also known as Horse Cakes. Well you don`t get any of those body parts in these sweets... but the song continues with the line `... and eyes and ears and mouth and nose` and you get the eyes and the nose... and severed fingers and brains... ooh gruesome!There are individually wrapped chewy, fruity, smooth textured jelly sweets with a rewarding rubbery gumminess (if that makes sense)... and they look far too realistic (how warped sweet makers are these days... great isn`t it???)
