Slow on Bank Hols But Worth The Wait! - review added on Thu 10th May 2007
Slow food, very slow actually about 90 mins for our mains. Excellent choice of beer though (Finchcocks ale) and the Chiddingstone cider is a must. Good views and atmostphere!

Terrible Service and Food. - review added on Tue 25th Sep 2007
Having read some good reviews we excitedly booked a Sunday lunch table for two at this pub. The food took 1 1/2 hours for the starter and an further hour for the main course. My chicken liver pate was fine but my partners calamari was stone cold. We both had main courses of fish both of which were inedible. The waitress changed them for a very substandard roast. I will never go there agin and would warn anyone else against visiting.

Poor. - review added on Thu 27th Sep 2007
I recently visited the spotted dog with my parents. We had heard what a lovely pub it was, but to our disapointment it did not live up to our expectations. The fish and chips were soggy, steak over cooked and the wrong kind of potato was sent out with my mums dish. Staff were unattentive, and there was a cold atmosphere throughout the evening. We had to wait 20 minutes for our order to be taken and a further half an hour for our main courses to arrive, it wasnt like they were busy, most of the pub/restaurant was empty. We were really looking forward to our rare evening out but were highly dissapointed. Won't be returning here again.
