Absolutely sublime cooking. The food and service is faultless, and the price for dinner is £28.50, which is a steal compared to London prices! Duncan, the Chef is a master of all trades, combining cooking, serving and choosing wine all at once! The fact that there are only about 20 covers makes it feel like you're eating at home, combined with the golden retriever who sleeps on the floor! I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough (the only trouble being that I don't want it to become too popular, so I can still get a table!)

Why hasn't this little gem of a restaurant got a Red One. After many years of dining in quality eateries, this must be my favourite. Even though chef/proprietor Duncan Walker spends more time in the restaurant than the kitchen, the standard just gets better every time. The service is casual, but relaxing and enjoyable, but can get rather hectic at times, and the food is always delivered with total perfection. Credit must be given to the kichen crew, for their absolute duty to the cause (Us the diners).

The cooking is fine and the price is right but the owner (Duncan) seems to want to do everything himself which can put pressure on diners. Limited choice and total inflexibility are the negatives. We would prefer eating in a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
