Simply better than ever...... - review added on Tue 7th Mar 2006

This place keeps getting better! We know our fish and chips and these are among the best we've tried - EVER. We had the battered haddock (simply divine) and the smoked haddock (lightly smoked juicy flakes of fresh haddock, mmmmm)with loads of chunky crispy chips. This restaurant is spotless and the assistants friendly and efficient. Will definitely make the 300 mile round trip to visit again!

Not worth the journey! - review added on Sun 8th Apr 2007

We made a 30+ mile journey to visit this place. I'd rather go to my local chippy to be honest, the fish is much fresher and tastes better! The drawback was the long queue and the time it took the assistanst to serve people. We waited more than an hour with less then 20 people in front of us. Once we got "the best fish and chips in Scotland"(apparently) the batter was extremely greasy and the fish was literally non existant! No definately not worth the trip. The Waterfront restaurant just along the road is a much better bet. Their fish is delicious, the portions are larger and the staff very friendly. We actually went here when we "binned"the Anstruther Fish Bar food!

FLYING FROM THE US IS NO EASY TRIP,NOT EVEN FOR A SCOTSMAN(GLASGOW).COMING HERE IS TRUELY WORTH IT. THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST OF THE BEST. I HAVE BEEN HERE EVERY TRIP AND I'M ANTICIPATING IT AGAIN THIS SEPTEMBER. IF THEY COULD MOVE THIS TO THE US THEY WOULD MAKE A FORTUNE. LET ME KNOW IF THEY DO,I'LL BE THEIR FIRST CUSTOMER.

Well Worth The Visit. - review added on Thu 17th Apr 2008

Our friends took us (my wife and I) for a drive down the coast for the day and suggested fish and chips at "the best place in Scotland". (We are Aussies). We weren't disapointed with the meal. Fantastic!!!! I have just recommended your business on talkback radio in Melbourne. Well Done. Hope to get back in the next couple of years.
