Delightful and different cuisine in Chesterfeidl - review added on Sun 27th Jun 2004

There is a very intimate, warm atmosphere about this small, friendly restaurant. It's perfect for a romantic meal, meal with friends or a special occasion. The food is divine, very tasty and all home-cooked. There is so much care and attention going into all dishes, even down to the crockery.Service is very good, polite waiters/waitresses and the wine list is very extensive.Definitely a refreshing change for Chesterfield - about time!

Most dissapointing Evening - review added on Sun 20th Apr 2008

I do not know when this restaurant was last rated but for sure I would avoid it like the plaque now. My last visit was around two years ago and it certainly lived up to its image, but this last visit was incredibly poor, French cooking come on people what do you eat at home it was shocking even though I did pay the bill. A night to forget. Take one look at the menu and you will see.

Not the best of places - review added on Sun 22nd Jun 2008

We went for a meal last sat night at first it looked a well presented place , we was taken to the bar for drink and a look at the menu the waitress didnt know if they sold alchol free beer and then she had to go and find some glasses for the drinks, when the first course came it was very nice and from there it went down hill sad to say , the main course was a rare steak that only tasted of burnt smoke and nothing else and the side salad was an extra £1.95 for 5 small leaves ,but the sweet was ok . The staff looked as if they didnt have a clue what they was doing ie walking around trying to give peaple starters for the second time and no main course . if you dont mind the 'F' word been used a lot you should be ok This is one place i would give i wide birth to ,the fish shop across the road looked better run
