Fantastic Service, Great Food - review added on Fri 5th Jul 2002

Huge restaurant, so unlike your typical Indian cupboards that are dotted around the UK. The waiters at Everest will make you feel incredibly welcome and the food is very good.Well worth a visit if you are in Cheltenham.

Tasty and Man-Size Portions - review added on Sat 27th Dec 2003

They really know how to make a man-sized Persian Dhanzak dish with lentils and the right amount of lemon juice, and if you order the tandoori mixed grill, there is a huge amount of meat. The service is unpredictable, and the coffee machine has been 'broken' for months, but overall this is easily one of the best indian restaurants in the UK.

Top, Top Restaurant - review added on Thu 15th Apr 2004

I'm a regular and after much searching (and believe me i've been to them all!), i can proclaim The Everest to be Cheltenham's premier Indian brasserie. A cut above anywhere else in terms of food, definitely go there and simply indulge. Excellent service, especially a handsome young barman by the name of Ali!

Lovely food! - review added on Sat 1st Jan 2005

Very nice restaurant, with good quality food, booking recommended at weekends as we had to wait a very long time for a table before and the wait for food can be ages but in the week its lovely and has good service. The chicken dishes are great with good portions. Be warned the Jalfrezi is very hot!!!

A Real Disaster. - review added on Tue 11th Oct 2005

My soon to be Wife had an awful experience at the everest last night. I'm not sure why everyone has heaped praise on them above, perhaps they're just being English and polite. I found the service to be non-existant, they took our order after 20 minutes, made us wait over an hour, only when I went to ask the owner if they had forgotten about us did he say 'Oh, I think its on its way'. The food wasn't as we had asked or to our liking, they may as well have got it out of a tin... To top it all off, music from the 80's was invasive and irritating. I have eaten at many Indian restaurants, near the 200 mark and this ranks as pretty near the bottom.

Definitely One Of The Best I've Benn To. - review added on Thu 16th Feb 2006

I dont know why Khalid had such a poor experience. Every time I've been the Everest has been spot on. And the staff actually speak English unlike many places these days. Excellent staff and the food is just what Indian food should be like.

The best in Cheltenham! - review added on Thu 26th Jul 2007

The Everest in Cheltenham is, without exception, my favourite restaurant in town. Everytime we go we are greated with beaming smiles and hand shakes. The food is exquisite and the service is second to none. We're always bought a drink by the team and made incredibly welcome.A delightful night out with good people.
