Customer Reviews for Mint - Leicester

Nice But Pricey. - review added on Sat 22nd Apr 2006

Location: easy to find on the main route through Mountsorrel however the car parking is not clearly marked and is located around the rear of the property.Welcome: Had to walk through a pub to reach the restaurant at the back of the premises but once there we were well looked after.Food: The food was exceptional, very carefully displayed, portions just the right size and absolutely delicious.Service: Felt a little bit rushed. When we visited at 7.30 pm on a Saturday night it was relatively quiet with 2 waiting staff. We noted that we were being watched perhaps a little too often and our plates were taken away after finishing our starter whilst I was still chewing.Value for Money: Quite pricey, starters are around £5 each, main courses average around £15 each, if you want veg or naan you pay extra, £5 for each, and I paid £22 for a bottle of red wine which I thought was a little over the top. Meal for 2 £85 in total.Overall: Nice place for a special occasion but not somewhere I could go too often mainly because of price/value for money.

Takeaways Are Excellent and Good Value! - review added on Mon 28th May 2007

I've not eaten in at the Mint, but have had a few takeaways. The food is excellent and is not like anything you usually get at an Indian restaurant. A large takeaway for 4 people costs ~£45 (£11.50 a head), which is very reasonable, and I think competitive, especially for the quality of food and service you get here. I find it quite hard to believe that eating in would be significantly more expensive.
