Brezza Bianca
Brezza Bianca - £5.69
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
Each year in northern Italy's Fruili region - regardless of how great the vintage is - only a fixed amount of wine can be labeled Grave del Friuli DOC. Never ones to let great things go to waste, we asked our favourite Pinot Grigio cellar to rescue their finest 'declassified' fruit and make you a truly mouthwatering white. ''Fresh and mouthwatering with enticing aromas and crisp citrus flavours. Delicious with shrimps, salmon or - for the more adventurous - chicken with ginger''

Vega Oliveras Macabeo 2007
Vega Oliveras Macabeo 2007 - £5.69
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
La Mancha is an up-and-coming region south of Madrid and is known as the country's New World. It's attracting big name investment because of the abundant, remote land and seriously old vines - the sort that would cost far more in Rioja. Made from 100% Macabeo - the great white grape of Rioja - this minerally-fresh white is bursting with elegant stone fruit flavours. Superb with seafood tapas or as a cool, refreshing glass on its own!

Poggio di Ettore
Poggio di Ettore - £5.69
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
Here's a savvy tip for fans of smooth, soft reds. It's a cherry-scented Italian charmer from Gold medal-winning winemaker (and old friend) Ettore Galasso. Ettore only makes this during bumper harvests when strict laws limit the production of his flagship Gold-medal Montepulciano. In the past, he used to keep aside a few bottles for his personal consumption selling the rest for blending, but thanks to his close working relationship with our senior buyer Thomas Woolrych, he now reserves the lot for us! This lusciously smooth, ripe Montepulciano was bottled without oak ageing so all of the fleshy, cherry fruit flavours shine through. It's smooth enough to enjoy on its own, or with a variety of simple pasta dishes.

La Roche Dame Sauvignon Blanc 2006
La Roche Dame Sauvignon Blanc 2006 - £5.79
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
La Roche Dame is a perfect reflection of the refreshing and vibrant flavours of the Loire's delicious 2006 vintage. Crisp and refreshing, this mouthwatering Sauvignon is a great alternative to high-priced Sancerre and Pouilly Fume. Our old friend Noel Bougrier's family have been at the centre of top-quality Loire winemaking for generations. When Noel surveyed the 2006 crop on his single Sauvignon vineyard, he reserved the entire harvest and called us immediately! La Roche Dame is a must-have white with vibrant, citrus-charged freshness and intense fruit-quality. Pale yellow with entincing aromas of grapefruit, elderflower and a fresh, grassy herbaceousness. Perfect as an aperitif or with seafood.

Deliciously soft, indulgent red from the noble grape of Rioja, oak-aged for extra richness and intensity of flavour - all from the award-winning Bodegas Navarro-Lopez in ancient Castile. The grapes - 100% Tempranillo - are hand-picked from vines lying just outside the up-and-coming DO of Valdepe?as - described by The Independent as ''outstanding reds - serious bargains''. Cherry red, with spiced raspberry aromas, Imperio is soft, ripe, and very moreish, packed with succulent berry-fruit, and well-balanced oak. It's delicious with casseroles and rich, spicy dishes.

Domaine des Garrigues 2005
Domaine des Garrigues 2005 - £5.79
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
We've been bringing you outstanding finds from this exciting wine region for decades. Domaine des Garrigues is a classic that combines old vine richness, glory vintage ripeness ... and unbeatable value. A perfect harvest yielded tiny amounts of concentrated fruit from ancient vines in the Pyrenean foothills. Winemaker Herve Sabardeil's local expertise is crucial - he knows the best sites and picks only the best Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah and Carignan, all in the cool of the night. Garrigues refers to the wild thyme, rosemary and lavender found all over this region and reflected in the wine's herbal edge. Deep garnet red with seductive aromas of forest fruits. Rich and brambly with gentle oak and hints of spice. Deliciously versatile - enjoy with ratatouille, hearty stews or simply on its own.

Palacio Robledo Sauvignon Blanc Verdejo 2006
Palacio Robledo Sauvignon Blanc Verdejo 2006 - £5.79
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
Palacio Robledo is a delicious example of the new wave of fresh, modern whites emerging from Spain and thrilling wine lovers across Europe. If you enjoy crisp, dry whites ... you're going to love it! A homage to Rueda - ''Spain's answer to Sancerre'' (Jancis Robinson) - it's a tongue-tingling marriage of citrussy Sauvignon and aromatic local grape Verdejo. The Lozano family's high-altitude vineyards in the dynamic La Mancha region were harvested at night to ensure the grapes reached the winery in perfect condition - meaning very fresh wine! From the initial burst of grassy passionfruit, ripe gooseberry and exotic lychee aromas, to mouthfuls of tingly, concentrated citrus, Palacio Robledo is a truly modern white. Enjoy with grilled white fish or light Summer salads.

Gaspard de Besse Merlot 2005
Gaspard de Besse Merlot 2005 - £5.79
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
Mid-way on the road from Aix-en-Provence to Nice lies the little village of Flassans, he perfect place to stop for a spot of luch - freshly baked baguette, local cheeses ... and ,of course, a glass of juicy, berry flavoured red to wash it all down with! But Gaspard de Besse Merlot isn't just any old red, it's made using the highlest quality Merlot grapes, by a fantastic little estate that specialises in producing the premium wines that are helping this corner of Provence - better-known for its rose wines - to develop a real reputation for reds. Showing just why 'the South of France is the most exciting wine region in Europe at the moment' (Richard Neill), this wonderful wine is packed with ripe damson and plum flavours, with a powerful, peppery nose. Rich and warming on the finish, it's ideal with the strong cheeses of the region.

Domaine Serjacq 2005
Domaine Serjacq 2005 - £5.79
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
This gloriously spicy southern French red comes from the Langudoc's the Chefdebien family, owners of Domaine Serjacq since 1880. Their prized 40-year-old vines in the Herault Valley give meagre yields of Syrah, Carignan and Grenache packed with rich, concentrated flavours.
