Domaine de Nalys 'Cuvee 1633' 2006
Domaine de Nalys 'Cuvee 1633' 2006 - £19.39
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
''Positively glows - demands attention'' ... said Jancis Robinson of Domaine de Nalys' stunning 'cuvee 1633'- an exquisite micro-cuvee that is the bigger, more complex and much rarer brother of the bestselling regular release we debuted back in August. The British Master of Wine also awarded it her highest score of all 2006s - beating Chateau de Beaucastel and Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe - both #35-a-bottle Chateauneuf icons. It's that good. And she wasn't the only world-renowned critic singing the wine's praises ''Domaine de Nalys is excellent ... disarmingly lush, seductive and delicious'' says the influential Robert Parker. 40-year-old vines (old by Rhone standards) give waves of dark, spicy blackberry and cassis, and the quality of the 2006 vintage delivers these flavours with such purity and 'oomph'. It all adds up to a clear 'pound for pound' Champion in our cellars. Enjoy! ''Impressively concentrated with layers of blackberries, creme de cassis, spice and hints of tar. Exceptional balance and purity - delicious now.''

The Farms Shiraz 2004

The Farms Shiraz is made just like in the old days - hand-picked grapes, fermented in open vats and basket-pressed for maximum flavour. A year in French and US oak adds smooth polish to the 'bible-black' berry and bramble fruit. A bottle to savour with haunch of venison, or rib of beef.

''Dense, fleshy, well-framed claret offering loads of black raspberry and cassis. Impressive'' Robert Parker Parker scores this sumptuous Saint-Emilion Grand Cru comfortably higher than the 2005 and we've secured total UK exclusivity for Club Members. Crafted under the watchful eye of Gilles Paquet (consultant to #300-a-bottle Cheval Blanc), this is already a joy to drink but will just get better and better over the next two decades.

Chateau Castelbruck 2005
Chateau Castelbruck 2005 - £19.39
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
Sometime you must go beyond the obvious - that's certainly the secret of enjoying the treasures of the hallowed village of Margaux at the best possible price. Take this dream Margaux for example, priced for 'the real world' thanks to a tip-off from an old friend. Everything you could want and from the superb 2005 vintage. You are clearly on to a winner here! Chateau Castelbruck is a tiny property whose vineyard nearly disappeared when the previous owner retired in 1992, but was rescued through the care of Margaux vigneron Jacques de Schepper. This is really quite a coup because French claret enthusiasts are masters at holding onto the best value wines for themselves - Castelbruck rarely makes it across The Channel. Black plum colour. Ripe aromas of mellow black fruits with a touch of mint and spicy cloves. Wonderfully ripe Cabernet flavours in perfect balance with supple Merlot. Ideal partner for roasts, hearty casseroles and firm cheeses.

Cornish Point Drystone Pinot Noir
Cornish Point Drystone Pinot Noir - £19.39
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
''At last Burgundy has a serious New World rival ... Central Otago will knock the rest of the Pinot Noir gang for six'' (The Times). Made along the organic lines, Cornish Point Pinot Noir is a stunning raspberry-scented red that's wowed the critics! Jancis Robinson called a previous vintage of this ''full, round and promising'' ... while wine-bible Decanter consistently offers sky-high scores! Steeped in history, the vineyard used to be a gold mining settlement in the mid 19th century. It was named Cornishtown around that time because of the prevalence of Cornish gold miners. At the edge of the vineyard there are still ruins of some early goldminers stone shelters. ''Fantastically rich, fruit-forward style of wine that belies its seriously elegant structure that supports long-ageing. Brimful of dark cherry, smooth Summer fruit, spice and a hint of smoke. A fantastic glass on its own!''

Tedeschi Amarone 2003
Tedeschi Amarone 2003 - £19.39
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
Decanter magazine recently rated Tedeschi as one of the Top Amarone producers - and we can see why! The winery is run by siblings Sabrina, Antonietta and Riccardo Tedeschi under the watchful eye of their father, Renzo. Robert Parker is a big fan of the estate and gave this excellent 2003 vintage an impressive 89 points. Made from 100% rich, dried grapes - this is Amarone at its dense, creamy best. Robert Parker describes the highly elegant 2003 as ''an understated, feminine wine with ripe, floral fruit.'' Extremely concentrated with swathes of aromatic red-berry fruit - you're guaranteed to be impressed!

Chateau Clement Pichon 2005
Chateau Clement Pichon 2005 - £19.59
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
For centuries, Chateau Clement-Pichon has set the bar for quality Bordeaux. Rich in heritage, the estate has housed a number of illustrious historical figures, including Louis XIV, who would often spend hunting seasons here. Today, it is owned by hugely talented winemaker Jean-Luc Thunevin. Jean-Luc has spent a great deal of time - and money - renovating the property to its former splendour ... and judging by the latest vintages, his efforts have paid off! It's no surprise that this ''legendary'' 2005 vintage eclipsed every wine to come out of the estate, before or since. Ripe and voluptuous with a wealth of rich dried fruit flavours - you really must try this! Wine Spectator awarded a hefty 86 points to this wine, describing it as ''medium-bodied, with velvety tannins and vanilla dominating the ripe fruit''. Outstanding!

Presbytere 2001
Presbytere 2001 - £19.99
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
Tiny-scale and quality obsessed winemaking is what you'll find here. This dark, intense Merlot was produced as it would have been in the 19th century - painstakingly - and all for a minuscule 200 precious cases. Using only the best, intensely flavoursome fruit from 110 year old vines this unique wine has been lovingly handcrafted all the way from the vat to the brand new, top-flight barrels. 19th century means no electricty so stirring is done by hand, barrels are moved with ropes and pulleys...it's a labour of love. Even the bottles are sealed manually with wax, and wrapping is done with silk tissue paper. You may think we're crazy - many do! But just taste it - you'll think again. Rich blackberry aromas, smooth rounded damson and plum flavours, beautifully integrated with the new oak. Amazingly long, luxurious finish.

Bodegas Primicia Gran Reserva 2004
Bodegas Primicia Gran Reserva 2004 - £19.99
Price on 16-Jun-08 from Laithwaites.
Housed in a beautiful 14th century building in the village of Laguardia, Primicia is run by the three Madrid brothers - Rodolfo, Roberto and Juan Ramon, and was recently named among Rioja's Top 20 houses in Decanter magazine by John Radford, the UK's leading Rioja authority. Altitude is important here too, with their highest vineyards lying at over 700 ft above sea level. Tiny amounts of this impressive wine are made from a few parcels of 45-year-old vines on the finest slopes of the family's sun-drenched terraced vineyards. These ancient plots yield multi-dimensional wines - rarities well worth tracking down. Powerful damson and berry fruit, earthy truffles and nutmeg and a complex finish that lingers for hours. Don't miss this superb 2004 Gran Reserva.
