From the native Fern?o Pires, an arrestingly, perfumed white grape grown along the River Tagus, this citrus-charged white is the perfect choice for everyday drinking. The temperate climate by the River Tagus makes Ribatejano one of the key wine regions in Portugal - home of the oldest appellation system in the world. Flowers, apple and spice aromas with lime and tropical fruit flavours. Elegantly refreshing. Ideal as an aperitif or with grilled fish and Asian cuisine.

For five generations the fiercely independent Angove family (now headed by the founder's great-grandson John) have bucked commercial trends in favour of top-quality, personality-filled wines ... an approach that has won them over 400 international awards in the last five years alone! With plantings of over 19 different grape varieties, the wine is famed for their rare wines. Traditionally grown in the Rhone, the Grenache grape is seldom seen in Australia. This steely gem from century-old Lupe Cholet is a striking step up in concentration and quality and only now beginning to show its spectacular true colours. Founded in 1903 in Nuits-Saint-Georges by Alexandre de Mayol de Lupe and Felix de Cholet, Lupe-Cholet make wines form across the Burgundy region. Les Beugnons is the name of one of Chabis' top Premier Cru vineyards. Pale gold with green glints. Classic aromas of summer hay and white-fleshed nectarines. Steely crisp yet full and complex, a stunning choice of wine for seafood and fish and classic white meat dishes such as blanquette de veau.

Price on from Laithwaites.
Set in Marlborough's 'Golden Mile', Terry and Lynley Sowman's pristine estate used to supply finest quality Sauvignon grapes to the region's most demanding winemakers. When they decided to bottle their own wine, they turned to veteran winemaker John Forrest for expertise. John - whose wines are rated above the revered Cloudy Bay - has crafted a thrillingly intense white. Full of mouthwatering citrus aromas, this zippy Sauvignon is guaranteed to enliven your tastebuds! Blanc Neuf La Bastide 2006
Blanc Neuf La Bastide 2006 - £8.39
Price on from Laithwaites.
Proudly showing its 'Best-in-Class' accolade, this brand new, golden white has real Grand Cru pedigree. It's made by Olivier Bayle (ex Lafite Rothschild!) and is so much like white Chateauneuf-du-Pape that our staff call it 'Baby Beaucastel Blanc' (a nod to the region's top estate). Olivier's big, rich reds have always been a huge hit - which is why he was delighted to take up our challenge to make a white every bit as serious. And what a triumph! A classic Rhone blend - Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne - barrel-fermented to add toasty richness to the crisp peach and apricot. ''This is beautifully balanced and creamily textured wine with an alluring, peachy nose and succulent honeysuckle and pear palate. A grand wine designed for fish main courses or roast pork, it is a real treat.'' Matthew Jukes

Villa Fiori Bianco
Villa Fiori Bianco - £5.79
Price on from Laithwaites.
Made from a mouthwatering combination of Sicilian Greganico and rounded Chardonnay from Italy's Abruzzan coast - this whistle-clean white is one of the best-value wines in our cellars! Young winemaker Scipione Giuliani was keen to make a blend he liked (subject to our approval!) and not be constrained by appellation laws, hence the humble Vino di Tavola status. Excellent with fish in lemony sauces (or just to perk up the cold turkey platter), Villa Fiori's pale lemon colour exudes a simple slightly grassy nose and has a fresh, clean palate, hinting of ripe, floral peach. Very good as a lunchtime aperitif too.

Molino a Vento Pinot Grigio Catarratto 2007
Molino a Vento Pinot Grigio Catarratto 2007 - £6.29
Price on from Laithwaites.
''Sicily continues to shine as Italy's star performer'', (The Times) especially after a run of fabulous vintages - 2007 was a belter! Here, Italy's hottest grape, Pinot Grigio, is really starting to make waves. Hot summers and temperate winters lead to wines with great concentration, and far richer tropical fruit flavours than those from cooler climates. When teamed with the native Sicilian Catarratto grape, things really start to get exciting! Winemaker Giacomo Vaccaro has crafted this mouthwatering new white from morning-picked fruit in his high altitude vineyards. Fresh aromas of citrus and pear. Subtly barrique-aged Catarratto adds a little richness to the Pinot Grigio zing! Enjoy on its own or with freshly grilled fish.

Barone Paladino Pinot Grigio
Barone Paladino Pinot Grigio - £69.99
Price on from Laithwaites.
Popularity has done nothing to diminish the cachet of Pinot Grigio, the pre-eminent Italian white, enjoyed by wine lovers around the world for its crowd-pleasing, thirst-quenching qualities. It's grown in many countries, but its true home is Italy. Hugh Johnson says in his classic reference 'The World Atlas of Wine', that ''the advent of Sicilian table wine has been spectacular''. Barone Paladino demonstrates this with 'new world' freshness and flair. Grown in hills 300m up around the town of Gibellina, the elevation gives freshness to the fruit and moderates the intense Sicilian heat. The Barone was crafted by the very talented Mirella Lombardo in a new nearby winery owned by local entrepreneur Maurizio Biscardo. 2006 was a good vintage for Sicily while the most recent vintage has seen volumes down by 50% and accordingly, prices soaring. The message is clear - snap up this beauty now while you can! Pale gold with silver highlights. Ripe apple, almond and spice aromas. Crisp, mouthfilling apple, melon and almond flavours. The key to maximum enjoyment is to think Italian. Serve with a green pea and mushroom risotto, pan fried fish or your favourite creamy pasta dish.

V.R
V.R - £55.74
Price on from Laithwaites.
This fabulous Viognier (code name VR) is one of the first releases from our beautiful old 'Chai' that lies on the quayside at Castillon, Bordeaux.'Le Chai au Quai (pronounced 'Shay OK'), allows us to cherry pick the finest parcels of wine and age them to add complexity ... and still be able to offer them to you at remarkably low prices! Our winemaker Jean-Marc Sauboua took the finest parcels of Viognier from southern France's superlative 2005 vintage and slowly fermented them to fully capture the famous honeyed apricot flavour that fans love so much. He then aged the wine in fine French oak, just like they do for #20-a-bottle Condrieu. Fresh stone fruit and honey aromas, with a hint of blossom. Rich and full with a touch of cinnamon spice and vanilla from the oak ageing. A lovely partner to creamy fish or seafood dishes.
