Steeped in heritage, Chateau Corbin is one of the oldest estates in St Emilion. Some parts of the property date back to the fifteenth century and according to legend, Corbin was the focal point of the stronghold that belonged to the Black Prince. Today, Chateau Corbin is the only estate in St. Emilion that's owned solely by women, and with a female winemaker. Anabelle Cruse Bardinet's great-grandparents bought the estate in 1924 and ever since she took it over in 1999 - the winery has been going from strength to strength! Wine Spectator suggest that 2005 was the ''best ever'' vintage from this estate ... and we can certainly see why! Robert Parker awarded the wine an incredible 90-point score, describing it as ''open-knit, broad, savoury St.-Emilion possessing abundant notes of sweet cherries, blackcurrants, roasted herbs, spice, and vanilla in its medium to full-bodied, lush personality.''
