Cabalie 2006
Cabalie 2006 - £7.55
Price on from Laithwaites.
Dark, succulent, compelling - Cabalie is a multi Gold-medal red with the power and intensity of top-flight Shiraz, even vintage Port. Its unique character inspires fierce devotion amongst Members and every new vintage release disappears quicker than the last. Cabalie hails from Maury, famous for its port-like wines, and a town with wine heritage dating back to the 2nd century BC! The area boasts some of France's oldest vineyards, and some impressively deep, smooth wines. Robert Parker calls it ''One of the last undiscovered bastions of delicious, value-priced wines.'' Cabalie's remarkable concentration is due to a unique combination of the delicious old-vine Grenache enriched with a splash of the powerful, port-like Maury - in the same way the Romans enhanced their wines over 2000 years ago! The result is a densely concentrated red, packed with flavour and warming 14.5% alcohol.

Bovlei Centenary
Bovlei Centenary - £77.99
Price on from Laithwaites.
2007 saw Wellington's Bovlei winery reach its centenary year and to celebrate, they crafted just 665 cases of this majestic red ... and thanks to our longstanding friendship, Bovlei set some aside, just for you! Head winemaker Frank Meaker is a luminary figure in South African wine. His grandfather was Paul Sauer, political activist and founder of Kanonkop Estate, South Africa's finest winery. Frank's earliest memories are of walking the vines with his grandfather, dreaming of the day when he could make his own wines. To make this special, one-off blockbuster, Frank selected the finest parcels of fruit. He chose the ripest Petit Verdot for elegant, backboned structure. Then to add super-smooth depth, Frank drew on the Cape's fortified heritage, choosing two delightful old Port varieties - Souzoa and Touriga Nacional. A nine-month rest in fine oak adds a subtle vanilla layer to this delightfully unique wine. Gloriously complex combination of blackberry and mulberry fruit, claret-like structure and subtle oak. The Port grapes add a warm mouthfeel and sweet nuances ... great with roasts and chargrilled steaks.

Baron de Turis 1920 Seleccion
Baron de Turis 1920 Seleccion - £57.99
Price on from Laithwaites.
We're very excited about Valencia. Known as Madrid on Sea (the port is a popular weekend hotspot), it's also home to one of the best value whites we've tasted. Gold-medal winemaker Juan Pico Lozano picks local Malvasia and Moscatel for his superbly refreshing Baron de Turis. Hugely popular in the seafront bars and bursting with ripe citrus fruit, this is the perfect lunchtime white! Teeming with bright peach and golden mandarin flavours with a minerally fresh edge - try a chilled glass with crayfish pasta or light Caesar salad.
