Made by our great friend and veteran Rhone producer Andre Roux this massive Grenache has made a big impact in previous years in the 'Red Wines of the Year' rollcall of honour - scooping 'Best Big Red'. And at 15% - you can't get much bigger! The fruit was selected from the hillside vineyards of Chusclan where exposure to the Rhone sun ripened the grapes to a fullness beyond compare. Handpicked and carefully transported to the winery (to avoid being damaged), they were then treated to Andre's masterful winemaking skill. Round, warming and dangerously moreish. Intense red fruit aromas and surprisingly silky, rich, dark fruit. Long-lasting flavours, no harsh tannins. Delightful!

Andre's special selection is a combination of rich, luxurious Viognier - the great grape of #20-a-bottle Condrieu - kept lively and refreshing by an equal portion of Grenache Blanc. And unlike many of its counterparts, it's unoaked to let the exotic fruit flavours shine through. Pure, fresh aromas of ripe peach and hints of apricot and white musk. Today the estate's wines are vinified by Franck Meaker at Wellington's Bolvei Cellars. Pale gold with light green tinges. Ripe peach, citrus and guava aromas.
