Reina de la Vendimia Chenin 2007
Reina de la Vendimia Chenin 2007 - £5.79
Price on from Laithwaites.
Freshly sliced apple and citrus-flavoured Chenin Blanc made by Rodolfo Sadler - one of Argentina's top winemakers. The wine itself is named in honour of the annual Vendimia, or harvest festival, when thousands of dancers group together to celebrate the grape harvest in an open air theatre in Mendoza - Argentinia's 'city of wine'. At the end of the night, into the small hours, the voting takes place for the year's Harvest Queen - ''La Reina de la Vendimia''. Our buyer Thomas, who was there this year, says ''it's probably the biggest vintage festival in the world!'' Grown in high altitude vineyards, the grapes are seriously concentrated - the warm days and cool nights in the Andes help retain the crisp fruit flavours. Pale yellow in the glass, with light apple and citrus aromas, Delicate and just off dry, but with a wonderfully refreshing, crisp finish. A fantastic match for white fish or seafood dishes. One to impress your guests with!

Dezzani I Morelli 2006
Dezzani I Morelli 2006 - £9.19
Price on from Laithwaites.
Innocently light ... this glorious discovery comes from the hills of Piedmont. It has oceans of fruit flavour and a little bit of everything else that's delicious - sparkle, sweetness, crispness ... and the featherlight touch of just 5% alcohol. Moscato d'Asti is not to be confused with simple Asti - this has much greater depth of flavour and finesse. And family-made, authentic gems like Dezzani Morelli seldom leave Italy - but look what happens when it does! Gold at the International Wine Challenge ... PLUS a successful showing at the Vintage Festival and glowing recommendations in The Guardian and The Telegraph. This is a pride and joy speciality of the Dezzani family. And, as one leading writer puts it: ''The amount of work going into producing Moscato d'Asti makes a mockery of the price.'' This is a genuine bargain ... you simply must try it! ''Straw yellow colour with emerald glints. Very aromatic - apples, pears and floral notes - gently honeyed white fruit fl avours and a crisp, subtle sparkle. Perfect on its own or with fruit tarts.''

La Roche Dame Sauvignon Blanc 2006 - £5.79
Price on from Laithwaites.
La Roche Dame is a perfect reflection of the refreshing and vibrant flavours of the Loire's delicious 2006 vintage. Crisp and refreshing, this mouthwatering Sauvignon is a great alternative to high-priced Sancerre and Pouilly Fume. Our old friend Noel Bougrier's family have been at the centre of top-quality Loire winemaking for generations. When Noel surveyed the 2006 crop on his single Sauvignon vineyard, he reserved the entire harvest and called us immediately! La Roche Dame is a must-have white with vibrant, citrus-charged freshness and intense fruit-quality. Pale yellow with entincing aromas of grapefruit, elderflower and a fresh, grassy herbaceousness. Perfect as an aperitif or with seafood.

Farnese Pecorino 2006
Farnese Pecorino 2006 - £7.99
Price on from Laithwaites.
When our old friends at Italy's fabulous Farnese estate decided to make a rare Pecorino of outstanding quality, they did so with the same gusto that transformed their Trebbiano white into an International Wine Challenge 'Wine of the Year'. Pecorino is a subtle, characterful grape - not to be confused with the ancient Tuscan cheese of the same name - that is something of an endangered species in the big brand wine world. By reducing yields and working on selected vineyard sites the team have produced a delicate but concentrated white, with just a little oak for added complexity. It did the trick too - picking up a coveted Gran Mezzione at Vinitaly and a London Gold in its first year. This follow-up vintage is even better with a Gold and Pecorino Trophy from the International Wine Challenge. Pale yellow with glints of fresh green. There's a tantalising minerality on the nose leading to a concentrated, crisp palate with real depth and class - no more than you'd expect from Farnese - plus a lovely long finish.

Kittoch Lane Semillon Sauvignon 2007
Kittoch Lane Semillon Sauvignon 2007 - £6.99
Price on from Laithwaites.
A tantalising marriage of round, lemon-fresh Semillon and racy Sauvignon - the grapes behind Bordeaux's finest whites. ''It's a traditional Bordeaux blend but we like to think we do it with more verve and with really fresh Aussie fruit flavours!'', Sam Trimboli, Winemaker. When Sam was making this wine, all it lacked was a name ... until one day wandering the vineyard Sam stumbled upon an old letterbox. Using a handful of grapes to clean away the grime, the name Kittoch was revealed! Apparently the vineyard's creek reminded a former Scottish owner of the creek which runs through the Kittoch Valley near Clyde! Bright yellow is colour with a heady orange blossom aroma and round flavours of lemon and honeydew melon. Crisp, refreshing and very long. Enjoy with calamari, grilled snapper or antipasti.

Crafted by talented young winemaker Scipione Giuliani ... the man behind your No.1 most reordered red, Il Papavero! Bright yellow in colour. Simple peachy and slightly grassy nose with a fresh, clean palate, hints of ripe peach and slight floral tones. Supremely quaffable at a great price.
